1. “The Ferrills of Virginia, came from Ireland, and are descended from the first Irish King Fergall, whose name, meaning Fearless One, was softened to O’Ferrill, and then into it’s present day spelling. The Ferrill coat of arms shows the shield with the ermine crown above, indicating to one versed in heraldry descent from royalty.” [663]
