Misc. Notes
1. The 1871 UK Census, Durham, Houghton le Spring District, Newbottle shows that Edward & Mary Ann Ross were living in the same house as John & Barbara Wakenshaw. They are noted as a separate family. Also living with the Edward & Mary Ross family was a Margaret Stoker (Stokoe?), listed as Servant, age 23, born Ferryhill, County Durham. I believe this is the same person as the Margaret Stother who is Edward’s niece and was living with Edward & Mary in the 1851 UK Census at age 3. I believe Maraget is the daughter of Edward’s unknown sister.
