Misc. Notes
1. From a taped interview with Beatrice Wakenshaw Nov 2001: “She was married once to a Tunnell. I don‘t know what happened to her husband. They were divorced or something. They weren’t married but just a little while. She had a baby and it died. They buried it there at Thayer in the cemetery, and nobody ever knew where it was buried because they didn’t put up tombstones then. But she used the name Tunell most of her life, until she was old and married uncle John”.

And we carried that cake on our laps to Kentucky. It used to take us three days to get there (two nights), in the Model T Ford. On country roads, up and down hills and all that stuff. Through Indiana, and down to Kentucky, we took that cake. John Imro, in later years, said he remembered making that cake for someone who was going to Kentucky.
